Activity Support Volunteer

Who we are:

The Create Connect Centre project aims to provide a safe and accessible space for everyone in the community to get together and connect through art.

As an Activity Support Volunteer, you will:

Volunteers offer support to people with complex needs to take part in a wide variety of art activities. From arts, and crafts, and singing to drama, exercise and drumming - your input will make a big difference in the lives of more vulnerable individuals.

• Motivating and encouraging members to keep positive and to engage in activities.
• Organise activities if you have a particular skill you would like to share.
• Work in cooperation with staff to make sure the activity is suitable for all the members participating.
• Supporting staff with tasks around the centre.
• Helping to set up the venue, and providing refreshments.
• Developing interests and skills with the attendees.
• Assisting staff members to gather feedback from the group to demonstrate the impact of the service.

Travel expenses, a meal in our cafe, DBS and essential training will be provided by the programme. 

Who are we looking for?

Individuals who value the local community, and feel lonely and isolated, are willing to develop their skills by assisting our members; people with positive attitudes, demonstrating patience and kindness; and showing an interest in promoting the independence of individuals attending the centre. Experience is not required is not essential but may be beneficial. 

You are welcome to get involved in the local community by being a part of a creative and exciting environment, develop new skills and have a lot of fun at the same time!
