Description of opportunity:

 

Black Autism Manchester is a community group for black women with presumed or diagnosed autism. The group is to create a safe space to empower and encourage members to share their lived experiences, embrace their neurodiversity as a community, and build a support network. Black Autism Manchester encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with autism, to apply. Black Autism Manchester is a safe space for black women who have or are suspected to have autism.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Bid Writer to organise and execute events that promote awareness and support for autism within the Black community in Manchester.

We are looking for 2 -3 bid writers who can take the lead in finding appropriate funds and writing grant bids in order to help Black Autism Manchester continue offering our support and resources in the community.

As a bid writer you will be responsible for identifying appropriate grant opportunities and managing the grant development and proposal process from research to submitting grant applications with any supporting documents.

As a bid writer, you will:

  • Identify appropriate sources of funding where applicable.
  • Tracking and monitoring grant deadlines and tracking submitted funding proposals
  • Monitoring grant usage and impact
  • Write and tailor grants specifically to meet the funders' interests/requirements and to write any additional documents required for funding applications. 

 

To be taken into consideration for this role, you will need the following:

  • Experience in fundraising within a charity, CIC or not-for-profit organisation.
  • Experience of developing both capital and revenue projects for not-for-profit organisations.
  • Ability to produce high-quality, professionally written funding applications.
  • Ability to organise your workload and track and report back regularly.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential
  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Experience setting up funding email templates (desirable).
