Description of opportunity:

Who we are:

QRC is a regenerative Grassroots group based in Manchester that is shifting the focus of pride to community rather than capitalist corporations. QRC acknowledges the radical roots of pride, its history of protest and struggle whilst also looking defiantly ahead in a world of climate catastrophe, we dare to envision alternative futures to consumerism that attempts to sell our identities back to us.

Join us for our second year at Platt Fields Market Garden on 7 + 8th September. We're hosting a packed programme of music, crafts, workshops, talks, queer food vendors, queer beer and so much more for our two day shindig. We will be welcoming groups already doing amazing things in our city and celebrating the amazing, diverse, radical heart of our queer community. Our doors are open to those of all ages, gender, sexuality or none. All money from ticket sales will go into putting on the event. Tell ya mates, Tell Ya Gran, Tell ya Postie!

We'll be announcing our full programme and releasing tickets soooon....

What are we looking for?

This is an excellent role for a thoughtful and warm person with good communication skills

What would you be doing as a volunteer?

The Outreach and Communites role will involve working with Marketing, Social Media and/or Volunteering teams to:

  • Identify and make contact with different local groups who may be interested in attending and/or volunteering at the festival, helping us to be as broad and inclusive as we can.
  • Get feedback from these groups (formal or informal) about what would make them feel welcome at the festival.
  • Where possible, follow up post-festival to see if we succeeded in making them feel welcome.

If you have any questions about this opportunity you can contact us on 0161 830 4770, or email us at: [email protected]
