Alternative Venue Discussion Group Virtual Noticeboard

About the Alternative Venue Discussion Group
During the first pandemic lockdown, a significant number of VCSE organisations and groups had to either close or had to change how they delivered their services, some remotely and some with limited face to face operations. During this time, Macc set up and facilitated a discussion space for any VCSE organisations or groups who wanted to meet and share any concerns or challenges they were having regarding venue space. The discussions included:

  • Interest in sharing spaces
  • Interest in a city centre hub space
  • Sharing examples of solutions VCSE organisations have developed in response to venue challenges, which other organisations may benefit from

Since reopening many organisations are now using different venue spaces or wanting to promote what spaces they have to hire. Many of the organisations who attended these discussion groups want to share information about any venue asks and or offers they had with other colleagues in the sector.

The noticeboard
We decided to offer a resource, which can be accessed between these meetings. We have created a virtual noticeboard, with one side for offering venue space and the other for those looking for a space to hire and the requirements they need.

If you would like to attend the Alternative Venue Discussion Group
Macc continues to host the alternative venue discussion groups via Zoom. There is no expectation to stay for the full session or to attend on a regular basis. These meetings are open to all VCSE colleagues to attend, share information or just to hear what is happening in the sector.
