ECORYS and Department of Health have announced the launch of the fourth Health and Social Care Volunteering Fund (HSCVF) local grant scheme 2013.

What is available?
The fund aims to enhance capacity in the health; public health and social care volunteering field and help organisations grow and develop. This is why HSCVF provides a combination of grant funding and capacity building support to organisations.

This year, as Skipton Building Society celebrates its 160th anniversary, they have allocated 160 donations of £500 to help fund development for grassroots organisations in our communities.

The idea behind the Grassroots Giving campaign is to help community organisations, or groups, who only have access to limited funding from elsewhere. For this reason, registered charities will not be able to request funding via Grassroots Giving.

Help The Homeless provides small grants up to £3000 for capital costs to small and medium-sized charities with a turnover of up to £1m per annum.

Macmillan have launched a new grants programme for groups and individuals who support people affected by cancer or campaign to improve cancer care.

A free service to connect accountants who want to volunteer with charities that need help from financial experts has been launched by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Chartered Accountants' Benevolent Association.

The website, www.icaewvolunteers.com, allows not-for-profit organisations, including charities, social enterprises and schools, to post an unlimited number of roles for free.

RISE is an exciting project designed and led by young people, for young people.

Created by St John Ambulance, the nation’s leading first aid charity, the project has been running since 2009, and is now available in communities across the country.
If you’re aged between 16 and 25 years old, and are not in employment, education or training, RISE could help you learn new skills, and improve your prospects. The project’s not just for the under 25s, though - contact the RISE office to find out if you’re eligible to get involved.
