 In October 2017, Manchester City Council (MCC) and Macc will be launching an exciting partnership initiative to link Council employees with Manchester’s local voluntary community and social enterprise sector (VCSE) organisations.

Health Education England Volunteering consultation

Three million volunteers already make a critical contribution to the provision of health and social care in England - for example the Health Champions programme of trained volunteers that work across the NHS to improve its reach and effectiveness.

Health Education England (HEE) has launched a consultation document to inform the NHS's volunteering strategy.

Volunteering to boost confidence - Creative Support Story

Today’s Creative Support volunteer event was a mixture of jumble sale, arts and craft session, cupcake making and befriending workshop all rolled into one. It was held to bring together 20 volunteers from across the services in Manchester to meet each other, get involved in fun activities and learn more about what’s happening at the charity.

It’s been a wonderful journey so far - Step Together Story

Tom was facing challenging circumstances that seemed insurmountable. A former offender, he had found himself in a cycle of substance misuse, homelessness and depression.

“The first time I came across Step Together was when I was living in an alcohol rehab project in Manchester and was really struggling to cope. Karen came in to do a presentation and I was really struck with what she had to say about volunteering.” Tom explained.

Levenshulme Youth Project are looking for Trustees

Levenshulme Youth Project is a small community project delivering a range of projects and activities for children and young people aged 8 years+ in Levenshulme and Longsight since 2012. Levenshulme Youth Project are very much a grass roots organisation and have been running with a voluntary management committee. Levenshulme Youth Project
