The Chatterbox Project
The Chatterbox Project is a charity in Manchester which supports one of the most impoverished communities in the country through an open-access programme of activities and services delivered from the heart of the community. Run by a small but dedicated team of local people, our purpose is to bring people together, provide practical help in times of need, and raise the aspirations of people living in poverty.
We offer the following services on a weekly basis during term time:
Food Bank
Addiction support sessions
Peer support sessions
Community meals
Informal financial advice and advocacy
Support with accessing benefits/CVs/Job searching
Adult education (e.g. maths, English, IT)
ESOL class (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
Recreational classes according to local demand (e.g. arts and crafts, dance, soap making, knitting, photography, cooking etc)
Community gardening
Chair-based exercises for the frail and elderly
Volunteering opportunities
Adult and toddler group (2 days a week)
Ofsted-registered preschool (3 days a week)
Ofsted-registered after-school club (3 nights a week)
We also run one-off events and trips, including our Family Fun Day, afternoon tea, money advice sessions, pamper sessions, children's trips, and a summer play scheme.
