Description: We support people living with sickle cell disease to manage their condition better. Our organisation is led and managed by people with lived experience of sickle cell disease. We support people by providing community based practical and emotional support during a sickle pain crisis.

We also provide advocacy for people who have faced discrimination or inadequate treatment because of their sickle status.

We raise awareness of the impact of sickle cell disease and we train employers, educators and health professionals to support people more effectively in these settings and we work at strategic level to influence positive changes to the infrastructure so that knowledge of sickle cell disease increases across all settings, and people are more aware of what people with sickle cell disease need to live life to its fullest potential.

Bag Packing SHORT NOTICE – DESPERATE APPEAL: Sickle is a blood inherited condition affecting over 15,000 people in the U.K alone. We wish to highlight some practical measures to help and support people living with the SCD; also to work alongside other charitable bodies and organisations to help improve the lives of people living with the condition as much as possible. We currently require a big favour from you!! We have been afforded the opportunity to raise funds via the medium of bag-packing at Tesco Extra in Gorton (Hyde Rd, Manchester M18 8LD). from 11am - 5pm and would hugely appreciate it if you (friends & family members ) could help us, whether it’s for 1- 2 hours or more - you do not have to stay for the whole day. This will be taking place this Saturday 10th September.
