Description:
We support people living with sickle cell disease to manage their condition better. Our organisation is led and managed by people with lived experience of sickle cell disease. We support people by providing community based practical and emotional support during a sickle pain crisis.
We also provide advocacy for people who have faced discrimination or inadequate treatment because of their sickle status.
We raise awareness of the impact of sickle cell disease and we train employers, educators and health professionals to support people more effectively in these settings and we work at strategic level to influence positive changes to the infrastructure so that knowledge of sickle cell disease increases across all settings, and people are more aware of what people with sickle cell disease need to live life to its fullest potential.
