Volunteering Opportunities

Opportunity title Summary
Support Worker Lifeshare requires enthusiastic and energetic volunteers to assist with our flagship Crisis Assessment Referral Diversity (CARDS) service for young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness or exploitation.
Employee & Group Volunteering We were established in Manchester in 1985, and gained registered charity status in 1989. Originally set up to meet the needs of Manchester’s homeless, we pioneered schemes for resettlement and rent guarantee to ensure stable accommodation for those in need, and in December 1992 we initiated the sale of ‘The Big Issue’ in Manchester with a local supplement (now ‘The Big Issue in the North’).
Lifeshare Christmas Drop In We need volunteers to offer 2 shifts to sort clothes, bedding and food, entertainment, health and wellbeing, cleaning and supporting the shower facilities.

We have experienced Volunteer Co-coordinators to support volunteers, new volunteers will work alongside returning volunteers.
Weekend Breakfast Volunteer The Breakfast Project started out with one of our volunteers taking bacon sandwiches to the rough sleepers in the days before Sunday trading. Today, it continues to be a popular and important part of
our service to the homeless and disadvantaged people of Manchester.
Driver We need a Resource Co-ordinator to accept and arrange collections and deliver donations (of food, clothes etc). We have a food delivery on Thursday morning and a Friday evening donation to collect. It is really important to be able to collect the donations for our Weekend Breakfast project and food parcels.
Social media content creator Lifeshare is looking for a volunteer to support with creating content for Manchester Digital Collective's social media channels (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook).
Bid writer Manchester Digital Collective is looking for a volunteer to support the research into and application for eligible grants and funding opportunities to assist in its development.
