Description: As a social enterprise we wish to provide a platform to artists from different cultural backgrounds to come together and collaborate on projects. Besides cultural understanding and openness, we aim to use the arts as an inclusive medium for physiological and psychological betterment of individuals, thereby enriching and improving the quality of human life.
Arts and Mental Health is a subject of deep interest for our social enterprise. Generally, children with developmental coordination disorders or patients with Dementia report a comorbidity comprising ineffectualness of motor skills alongside cognitive concerns like attention and concentration deficit. Through the course of her PhD, Gayathri (Founder/Artistic Director – Equilibrium Dance and Arts) identified that dance training can help improve motor skills (gross and fine motor skills) and cognitive abilities (selective attention, visual memory). Achieving a holistic lifestyle by using dance and music as a creative form of physical activity among dementia patients and children with special needs will be one of the areas explored in detail by the company.
