Description: Foodinate is an innovative social enterprise, teaming-up with restaurants to tackle food poverty and homelessness in the most deprived communities of the UK. At its core it is a simple meal-for-meal programme: for every Foodinate-branded meal sold in a restaurant, we provide a meal for a local person in need. Since the restaurant agrees to cover the cost of the donated meal, all the diner has to do is order a meal from the menu that’s been marked by a Foodinate sticker, and a local homeless centre will provide a nourishing meal to someone in need in the same community.
In addition to providing meals for those in need, Foodinate is committed to finding long-term sustainable solutions to end homelessness in the UK. Foodinate partners exclusively with centres who offer other provisions as well as serving food, from addiction therapy to CV workshops and IT training. As the organisation grows, Foodinate will create even closer links within communities by providing opportunities via our restaurant partners, including cooking/nutrition lessons, as well as options for gaining restaurant experience and employment (working closely with our homeless centre partners to identify the individuals who will benefit from these experiences the most).
