Sister Supporter Manchester

Where do they work?: Cheetham, Fallowfield, City-Wide, North, Central
Registered charity number: 0
Description: Sister Supporter is a pro-choice organisation, founded by local Manchester in 2018. We are campaigning for the public space outside our local Marie Stopes clinic, and all clinics in the United Kingdom, to be free from intimidation and harassment, allowing those who wish to exercise their legal right to healthcare to do so without interference and judgement.

We are not anti-religion, nor are we pro-abortion. We are, however, opposed to anyone, with any agenda, placing themselves outside of health services for the purpose of discouraging or detering access to the facility. This includes religious groups conducting prayer vigils in the immediate vicinity.

We also support our sisters in Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland who as it currently stands are not granted the same rights and access to healthcare as we are.
Services delivered: We provide a pro-choice presence and support women attending clinics in Manchester whenever they face anti-abortion campaigners outside those clinics.

We aim to collect signatures, raise awareness, offer protection, gather evidence, provide a visible opposition and engage with the community about issues faced by women who encounter of anti-abortion demonstrators when trying to access healthcare.
