Hulme Community Garden Centre
28958R
HCGC provides a community resource in two of Manchester's most deprived areas, Hulme and Moss Side.
We provide a neutral community garden space and run workshops for the local community, a wide range of socially excluded groups, schools and voluntary organisations. HCGC promotes civic engagement and voluntary activity, urban gardening and food production, horticulture, the environment, independent living, health and well-being, all of which are underpinned by our organic principles.
We provide volunteering opportunities, work placements and education projects for the local community. In addition, we are a trading garden centre offering affordable plants for local residents and providing free expert horticultural advice to all our visitors. We are open to the public seven days a week, 10-5 Mon-Sat, 10.30 - 4.30 Sundays.
Our projects have proved hugely successful positioning HCGC at the heart of the area's regeneration.
