Description: Trans Mutual Aid Manchester is a grassroots trans-lead organisation that aims to provide community, advice, practical support and micro grants to trans and non-binary people in Greater Manchester.

As part of this outreach we are aiming to make contact with groups and individuals that are less likely to have heard of our organisation, and to reach demographics that are under represented in our community. We would particularly like to reach people affected by racism, transmisogyny, and those over 50.

We are currently in our fundraising and outreach period in order to prepare for spring 2021 when we will open up applications to our micro-grants, however we do have current projects and collaborations already on the go. We’re looking for people that would like to access the support that we have in place, the resources that we can provide, and also to join our organisational team.

Our current projects include:
- working closely with Queer Food Project; a queer lead group that matches up cooks, delivery drivers and hungry queer people in order to feed those that need support feeding themselves.
- A small trans library, posting out queer texts to those that request them with free shipping back to us
- Hormone access resources and skill sharing, including an ongoing research project into trans-friendly GPs and services in Greater Manchester (tiny.cc/gmtranshealth)
- Open support requests – if you or someone you know could benefit from the support of the local trans community in any capacity, please contact us and we will do our best to meet your needs

TMAMCR operates using regular meetings via Zoom (adaptations for accessibility can be made) in which we discuss our individual working groups, the organisation as a whole, and share any financial and fundraising updates. We also work, discuss and share on Basecamp, splitting into different groups to manage separate departments. We work within the GDPR guidelines and keep any information given to us strictly safe, confidential and secure.

If you are trans or non-binary and would like to organise with us, please get in touch.
