Global Vision Initiative
GVI, a registered charity organisation (CC No:-1142264), adopts instructive social, leadership skills training, sports/exercises to strengthen communities, provide opportunities for socially disadvantaged, hard to reach, excluded young people age 15-18/28 and older people 65+; with linguistic adaptations and socio cultural complexities/challenges, difficulties, and identifications. through low income, rural and social isolation; assist them find routes back into education, volunteering and employment
GVI is based in the Black Minority Ethnic and Asian communities of Gorton, Manchester UK; one of the most socially deprived neighbourhoods in UK (Government Report ’08). One of the least developed areas in England, lacked visible Government Regeneration drive, one of the 10% most deprived wards in Britain, and also among 30% most deprived Lower Super Output Areas.
GVI also enhances young people’s personal development through wider community involvement, train, empower, and skill them through coaching, mentoring; thereby improving their self-confidence and esteem.
GVI runs Youth Exchanges, Youth Initiatives; Training and Networking projects etc. for young people, Youth Leaders, Youth Workers, Experts and Trainers, and also create opportunities for them to participate in EuroMed, Euro African Youth activities, promoting creative new approaches to community activism, citizenship and patriotism.
V2020 ‘Safer Stronger Communities Initiative’, and 'RTS' Youths Reclaim The Streets projects aimed at building respect in the community, reduce levels of anti-social behaviour from hard to reach, poverty stricken and excluded school drop outs. 'RTS' Youths Reclaim The Streets, 'KIO' Kick it our Kick Racism Out was selected as a case study by the YiA/British Council in 2012 (see British Council & SALTO site) 'KIO' aimed at building respect in the community, reduce intolerance, racism, xenophobia, prejudice, anti-social behaviour from hard to reach, poverty stricken, excluded young people through reformative and participatory sporting activities. 75% of participants on 'KIO' were socially integrated into community activities through follow-up projects which reduced isolation, maintained independence and improved self-confidence/esteem.
Delivering on agreed project goals and targets adopting good practice processes and procedures, YiA/British Council approved the following projects ‘EPAC’ Euromed: Path to Active Citizenship, ‘WARX’ War Against Racism and Xenophobia, ‘ROP’ Roma Outreach Project, ‘YIDS’ Youth Intercultural Dialogue, ‘M4A’: Motivate for Action: Intercultural Dialogue through Sports for delivery in summer and also appointed V2020 as Champions of YiA International Youth work in Greater Manchester metropolis UK.
In addition as we continue to expand our scope and delivery strategies, Comic Relief, Awards for All, Manchester City Council, Open Society Foundation, Grundtvig, and Leonardo Mobility Projects etc. are in the pipeline for delivery. We have always honoured our obligations to our funders, clients and participants we parade an array of professionals such as Accountants, International Trainers/Youth Workers and MBA holders who manage the day to day activities of the organization. We have the capacity and the resources to run local, transnational and International projects. British Council Audit Team conducted an audit of our process and procedures in 2012 and gave us a clean bill; we are also working towards the Quality Mark in PQASSO.
V2020 is a member of the International Development Alliance (IDA) www.idanetwork.eu and also partner with the following organisations @ both EU and international levels Ogaden Forening-Denmark, TUFAC-Turkey, Ai-serve-Lebanon, United Religious Initiative-Jordan, Kurdistan Association ry-Finland,. Rialto –Ireland, Arc - Algeria, Esteem International Agency – Moldova etc.
30 young people attending 'ACTS' have increased skills, knowledge, and competencies in developing sports based projects targeted at resolving conflict issues, promotion of inclusion and encouragement of active citizenship.
30 young people have increased awareness on issues of inclusion and well-being of marginalized and disadvantaged people adopting sports as change agent in addressing social problem situations, promoting safe and protective behaviours.
30young people have an increased understanding of how sports can help bring about positive changes in lives of individuals and communities.
80% of the participants on 'ACTS’’' project have greater knowledge across the community about effective work which uses s port as a tool for social change.
30 young people have improved project management, intercultural learning, communication skills, mentoring and leadership skills, participants will turn innate talents and skills into economic main stay to combat and fight poverty among BMEA at the end of the project.
Engage locals as volunteers, sessional workers, etc. thereby promoting more active citizens working together within the community to tackle social problems and encourage local talents.

By attending ‘ACTS’ Project, away from parents and siblings, 100 young people will have increased independence and confidence to take part in a wider range of activities such as team building games, in door games i.e. Table-Tennis, Badminton etc. than they would have been able to before.
30 young people will build new friendships, learn how to work within groups, plan their time, sharpen their interpersonal skills, and learn social skills needed to develop relationships with mainstream peers in the community. 30% of young people that attend the programme will go back to further education;
40% sustenance of achievement at our social sports and encouragement to have a go @ various sports/games; while 30% goes back to paid work.
