Oldham Boxing and Personal Development Centre

The core of OBPDC’s mission is to deliver holistic personal development so it can be accessed by everyone in the community.
OBPDC became operational in April 2008. I think it is important that you recognise the huge impact the facility has had — and continues to enjoy — with our personal development, intervention and social cohesion work. The centre is open six days and five evenings each week. OBPDC is Oldham’s only Amateur Boxing Association of England-affiliated club. It was established to deliver interventions as part of Oldham’s pioneering Alcohol, Cocaine, Cannabis and Ecstasy (ACCE) project which uses sport and lifestyle skills alongside harm reduction strategies to help to challenge substance misuse.
Subsequently, OBPDC has expanded rapidly, working with young people facing a number of issues, in particular focusing on those involved in youth offending and those identified as NEET(Not in Employment, Education or Training).
We also provide boxing sessions for all of our community, adult, children and ladies only. We have put on various sessions such as mental health sessions, hate crime sessions and holiday clubs for children.
