Description: Run by women for women, living in or associated with Wythenshawe. We are volunteer led, with a constitution. We hold monthly general members meetings and have at least 1 weekly committee meeting. We are not yet registered as a charity. Our aim is to bridge gaps between generations and diverse cultural communities. Bringing women out of isolation, building confidence, self-worth, increasing their skillset and preparing them for employment. We celebrate and empower women with an inclusive and dignified service, supporting, signposting and providing projects designed for growth. Our members are 70% BAME and we aim to reach the hardest to reach, improving English language for our members and their children. Our group prides itself on uplifting and celebrating one another, learning from one another to help each one of us grow to reach our own self-actualisation. Our objectives are Mental Health, Youth, Healthy Relationships, Domestic Violence, Health Equity, Education, Cost-of-Living, Recovery and Addiction, Parenting. To support these objectives a number of projects are being devised 'Stretch and Stroll', 'Creative Confidence', 'Cooking on a budget' and 'Sewing community '. Our main project focus is on a ‘Healthy Relationship and Domestic Violence’ event, which will have 120 attendees. There will be a Healthy Relationship workshop with interactive tasks for the audience to get involved, drama productions of Domestic Violence /Abuse and Digital neglect scenes and testimonies from those effected. 8 local services Safe Spot, Freedom project, Olive Pathways, Early Help, GMP etc will share their services and have stalls where attendees will be able to refer and get the right support needed. This will have a great impact on our local community. Leading on to running ‘Healthy Relationship’ workshops in schools from a primary level through to high schools.
