IAG and Work Club Volunteer Our Work Club and IAG Volunteer opportunity provides a chance to meet new people and give something back to your community, while gaining experience for your own CV.
Community Centre Board Members We are hosting our Annual General Meeting on Thursday 15th February 2018 and are looking for volunteer board members to join. This will give people an insight to our centre, understand the work we do, have an input with ideas and suggestions, be able to get involved more. Meetings are held once a month and last two hours. You will be expected to attend these meetings and contribute where possible. Members will be able to use the skills they have or increase their knowledge of what it means to be a board member and training can be provided.
BMCA volunteer cook We are looking for a reliable person who can commit to a couple of hours every Wednesday to help cook the community lunch we host for people over 60 years old. The role wont be too difficult and training will be provided.
Chair based exercise instructor Experienced instructor for short term cover. Will be able to lead sessions with older people for one hour.
Chair Person Becoming a Chair Person or Trustee of our community centre means you get to work directly with the managers and the community to have an impact on the services we deliver.
BMCA volunteer cook To cook basic meals for 3-5 people on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at our lovely Barlow Moor Community Centre, help plan meals for the following week and receive support and Food Hygiene level 2 training.
Community Lunch Volunteer Barlow Moor Community Association's community lunch involves between 15-30 service users, and runs every 4 weeks. They have the opportunity to come together at the community centre and enjoy a free, sit down meal.
Music for Mindfulness Volunteer Barlow Moor Community Association are looking for volunteers to support their weekly, informal Music for Mindfulness session on a Friday morning.
CLOSED: 'Let's Cook' Volunteer Barlow Moor Community Association, are looking for a volunteer to help with their weekly "Lets Cook" session on a Wednesday from 12:30pm- 2:30pm in their community centre.
Community Cafe Volunteer Supporting our cook David in our small community cafe, The Den& on a Thursday from 9:15- 2 (this can be somewhat flexible). This will involve, clearing tables, taking orders, making hot drinks and toast, and greeting people as they come in.
