Newton Heath Youth Project CIC
Community Learning Centre is a place where people can access information or support to a range of organisations or services to assist with their general health, wellbeing and day to day lifestyles. The Community Learning Centre is also a setting where many people gather to meet and form friendships. We currently run a weekly food bank, an over 50’s Community Session, a IGT group as well as we run weekly one to one by appointment support sessions
The project runs four young people’s sessions a week at its Averill Street Centre. Delivering sessions and workshops to engage young people aged 8-19 years in a programme of targeted youth work, arts and crafts and sports sessions. In addition, the Learning Centre at Briscoe lane is a state-of-the-art IT facility which provides a Homework Club twice a week for 14-16-year old’s and a parent support session once a week for lone parents. Staff and volunteers at the Homework Club provide young people with educational support in a safe environment. The parent session encourages social interactions, provides advice and guidance and offers a variety of fun and educational activities.
