Description: The Salvation Army Manchester Central is a register charity and a Christian church. We aim to serve the local community helping each individual and families to meet their needs with dignity, worth and value. In collaboration with other organisations using the building we have been able to identify those with greater need.
We are focused on empowering those looking to improve their lives implementing educational programmes such as English conversation groups; Drop-in services involving support with CV writing and applications. Practical assistance covering a range of areas such as preparation of food vouchers, clothing voucher etc. Finally, building spiritual connection by creating Prayers Spaces where people are able to explore their faith and reconnect their strength.
Our weekly activities: The Growth Company/The Works (training for employment - Mondays to Fridays from 8.00am to 16.30pm)
The Manchester Young Community Champions CIC (Sports and other activities after school - Mondays between 16.30pm – 18.30pm)
- The 456th Scouts (after school activities - Tuesdays 18.30pm – 20.30pm) & (Thursday 18.00pm-20.00pm)
- Glorious Family Chapel (Sunday services between 3.00pm-19.00pm)
- Manchester Chinese Christian Church (Sunday services between 9.00am-15.00pm)
- Rhema Faith Ministry Manchester (Fridays 18.00pm-20.00pm): Youth team (Saturdays 18.00pm-20.00pm).
- The Salvation Army drop in service is available every day delivering pastoral support to those attending to the building, including warm space with refreshments. Support with job applications and CV Writing, or any other type of inquiry. Practical and emergency help with clothing voucher or food voucher which will be prepared under the Trussell trust system.
We have morning prayers every Tuesday between 11.00am-12.00pm and Wednesdays between 18.00pm-19.00pm followed by refreshments.
