Goldstar delivers employment skills training programmes to support young Charedi (Orthodox Jewish) women, aged 16-24, a socially isolated and underserved community facing disproportionately high levels of poverty and economic exclusion.
Our flagship initiative, the Goldstar Employability and Soft Skills Course, equips young Charedi women with a Level 3 qualification in employability and soft skills, including communication, teamwork, professional integrity and adaptability, within a culturally sensitive environment.
Deloitte predicts that soft-skill-intensive jobs will account for two-thirds of all roles by 2030, growing at 2.5 times the rate of other jobs. This programme provides a comprehensive soft skill-set in a highly engaging way, which complements professional training in all employment fields.
In September 2024, we expanded our operations to Manchester, and are presently supporting 60 young women with training and employment support. This is undertaken through weekly workshops where the Goldstar Skills Programme (A Level) is being taught. This programme covers 7 Modules from Self Awareness, Employment Mapping, Soft Skills required for work and life such as : Communication; Adaptability, Work Ethics, Integrity etc.
We are presently in negotiation with 5 seminaries (equivalent to 6th Form Colleges) to offer our programmes. Through setting up a presence in Manchester we are able to expand our reach exponentially, and the ripple effect of our intervention will be felt locally.
