Description:
Forever Young began in 2013 with the coming together of a few elderly ladies at Fallowfield library which by then had transformed into The Place at Platt Lane. These ladies all had one thing in common, social isolation.
It began with getting together for a brew and a chat once a week to what it is now, a twice weekly group meeting each Monday and Thursday to knit, natter, play bingo, do quizzes and puzzles, listen to old songs, reminisce about the past in a safe environment, and occasionally have the odd day out to Bury Market, Cleveleys or Southport.
The ladies get involved with helping out at The Place too and during covid when the building was closed to the public a few of them helped out with packaging food and essentials for people who couldn't leave their houses!
