Description: 465th Manchester Scouts was formed in 2013 as a new group, the closest group to the city centre and located in Brunswick/Ardwick, an IMD2 area which has never had a scouting presence before. We are among the most ethically diverse groups in the UK.

The purpose of scouting is to actively engage and support young people (aged 4-17) in their personal development, empowering them to develop skills for life and make a positive contribution to society. This is especially relevant in Brunswick/Ardwick which has a high proportion of young people who tend not to travel to access after school activities, but options are limited.

Our volunteer leaders develop a rich and varied programme of activity, shaped by young people's preferences and input, and the scouting badges and awards framework. We have a strong emphasis on learning about self and others through games, teamwork and hands on activities, community contribution, leadership, adventure and outdoors (camps, hikes etc).
