Description:
The Chai Circle Community Wellbeing Group is a peer-led, community-based support and wellbeing group based at Harpurhey Neighbourhood Project Centre.
The group provides a safe, welcoming and culturally inclusive space where adults experiencing grief, loss, loneliness, isolation, trauma, illness or other life challenges can come together through conversation, creative activities, shared experiences and community connection.
Our aim is to reduce social isolation, improve emotional wellbeing, strengthen community relationships and encourage wider participation in local activities and volunteering opportunities.
The group is open to all adults aged 18+, welcoming people from diverse cultural, ethnic and social backgrounds. Our members currently range in age from 19 to 70, creating an inclusive, intergenerational environment where people can connect, share experiences, learn from one another and build meaningful relationships.
Activities are developed in response to participant feedback and interests, ensuring that sessions reflect the needs and wishes of the community. Through peer support, creative sessions, wellbeing activities, community conversations, cultural activities and participation in local community awareness events and initiatives, the Chai Circle helps people feel connected, heard and valued.
The group supports individuals who may experience barriers to accessing traditional support services, providing a friendly community space where people can build confidence, improve wellbeing, develop friendships and become more engaged within the Harpurhey community.
