RISE delivers free music and creative-industry programmes combined with practical employability support for young adults aged 18 to 30 in Greater Manchester who face barriers to opportunity.
Participants write, perform and record their own original music, produced and mixed to a professional standard. Alongside this, they take part in structured employability sessions covering individual action planning and goal setting, CV writing and personal branding, interview technique, and presentation and public speaking.
Participants also help produce a live showcase of their work, taking on hands-on roles including sound engineering, stage management, promotion and front-of-house, and gaining experience in audio production, video editing and social media content.
RISE works in partnership with referral organisations, education providers, employers and creative-industry contacts across Greater Manchester to reach participants and connect them to opportunities. Programmes are provided free of charge to remove the cost, equipment and access barriers that normally exclude disadvantaged young adults from the creative industries.
