Event Volunteer at Manchester Half Marathon Be part of our Manchester Half Marathon cheer team on 16 October and join our team of runners in the fight against dementia.
Cheer Volunteer Feel like doing something incredible and changing people’s lives in the process? We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to join our Marathon cheer team at the Asics Greater Manchester Marathon to help ensure our team of runners receive the support they deserve along the course.
Volunteer Driver You will be supporting a person with dementia to attend a local meeting using your own car.  A mileage allowance is available.  Your involvement will ensure that those people, who cannot make their own way to a local meeting or activity group, are supported with safe and reliable travel arrangements.  Your help will allow people living with dementia to have a voice and influence matters that can improve the quality of their life.
Volunteer Driver Escort You will be supporting a person with dementia to attend a local activity group. You would be accompanying the volunteer driver to help collect a service user from their home to take them to a group and then take them home afterwards. You would be needed once a week, fortnightly or monthly depending on the group involved.  Monday to Friday office hours only.
Side by Side Volunteer Side by Side volunteers provide invaluable, person centred opportunities for people living with dementia. You could enable someone to take part in social and recreational activities - staying connected to the things they love such as listening to music, enjoying a good conversation, keeping active in local community or leisure centre or giving someone the confidence to take part in groups. Your involvement will enable people with dementia, help them feel less isolated or lonely and focus on their individual strengths.
Side by Side Telephone Volunteer We're looking for people who enjoy quality conversation, are good listeners and who are comfortable making telephone calls. You'll be passionate about supporting, enabling and empowering people with dementia. You'll have a committed and flexible approach to volunteering with the ability to follow service boundaries, policies and procedures.
Singing for the Brain Group Support Volunteer We are looking for people to volunteer at our Singing for the Brain group in Wythenshawe. The group takes place weekly on Thursdays at St Andrews Methodist Church. Please note that this role requires a long term weekly commitment. Whether you love to sing, are good at organising, or just like talking to people, you can make a real difference in this exciting role. Ability to sing is not essential as there are a wide variety of tasks to be carried out.
Dementia Forget me not Appeal Collection Volunteer The Forget Me Not Appeal is looking for someone to spend 2-3 hours during the Dementia action week of the 13th-19th of May to participate in collections for Dementia outside a Morrisons near you.
