Manchester Care & Repair is an independent charitable orgnisation working with older and vulnerable people to help them to live independently in a safe, secure, warm and well-maintained home.
We have developed a range of services including home maintenance, energy efficiency initiatives, home safety checks, handyperson service and advice on reputable building contractors for home renovation.
We offer a core range of home-visiting services that can both support your independence at home and help with home repairs and improvements.
- Free Handyperson Service for those aged 60 or over, regardless of tenure. (Under 60's can be referred by a health or social care professional, if they receive PIP or DLA)
- Home Repairs Support - advice and support with larger repairs or renovations to your home (for owner-occupiers)
- Casework Service - Referrals to our caseworkers must be made by your GP or other health or social care professional. Welfare/benefits advice, form-filling, housing support, information and advice.
- Energy Efficiency Advice - are Energy Efficiency Officer can visit you and advise on ways to save energy,
Home From Hospital - We also deliver a range of services to support people with the transition from hospital to home. The services aim to increase or maintain independence and reduce the risk of hospital readmission, falls and other health problems.
- Assisted Discharge Service @ North Manchester General Hospital
- Independence Support Workers - support when you have returned back home from hospital
- Telephone Support
- Priority Handyperson service for minor adaptations
- 'Home First' Caseworker support

Your donations go directly towards those people most in need. Every penny we receive goes into our ‘Home Comforts Fund’ enabling us to provide essential household items to our must vulnerable clients.
