Volunteering Opportunities

Opportunity title Summary
Drop In Volunteer Would you like to gain experience working with clients who live with Mental Health Issues? If so why not join us on either a Tuesday between 4-7pm or a Thursday between 12.30-3pm. We need volunteers to greet clients who attend these sessions and then to engage with them by simply listening, chatting, playing chess, simple crafts etc. We are a one stop shop where clients can access a range of support advice and activity. The project is friendly and informal. We aim to offer a holistic service to clients with a range of services addressing mental health and well being.
Kitchen Volunteer We are a small charity in Ardwick working with people living with mental health needs. We are a one stop shop where clients can access a range of support advice and activity. Based in Longsight we offer a holistic approach with the aim for clients of improved mental physical and emotional well-being. On a Tuesday and Thursday we run a drop in session and we offer clients a meal. We need volunteers to help in the kitchen under the guidance of our cook; helping to prepare simple meals, collecting orders from clients, washing pots and chatting to clients.
WITHDRAWN: Christmas Day Volunteer We open on Christmas day and provide a Christmas lunch with a festive atmosphere. We are keen to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer for a couple of hours or more on the day, your Christmas lunch will be provided. We need help in the kitchen preparing the food, serving the food and washing up. We are also keen to hear from anyone who can play an instrument, sing or provide entertainment.

We are a one stop shop where clients can access a range of support, advice and activity. We are based in a church but are non faith based and anyone is welcome. We offer a holistic range of interrelated services which help our clients to improve their social networks, gain improved mental physical and emotional well-being, and gain self esteem and confidence.
Christmas Day Volunteer We are a small charity based in a church in Ardwick Manchester; for people  living with mental health needs. We are a one-stop shop where participants can access a range of support, advice and activity. We are friendly and informal  and getting involved is an easy process. We provide a variety of drop in sessions and activities such as Literacy, IT lessons, Manchester History Sessions, Advice, Art, Counseling and Massage. We are non faith based and welcome everyone.
safeguarding trainer We are a small charity in Longsight, Manchester. We work with clients who live with mental health needs. We are looking for a volunteer on a one off basis who can deliver a short Safeguarding training course for our volunteers; 1 or 2 hours in length.  This opportunity would suit a Manchester Council employee under the councils new staff volunteer scheme.
Music volunteer We are a small charity based in Longsight, Manchester who work with people who are living with mental health needs. We are looking for a volunteer or volunteers who have musical skills and would be willing to donate an hour or two of their time on a Tuesday evening between 6-7pm to sing and play guitar or other instrument for the entertainment of our clients.  Alternatively for a group of musicians to perform occasionally as a band.  Music from the 60s/70s and 80s would suit our clientele. This opportunity would suit a volunteer working at Manchester Council under the new employee volunteer scheme.
