Ongoing Projects
• Community Lunches – every Tuesday in term time, Community Lunches are hosted at the 422 Café between 12 and 2pm. Grab some lunch and join in a conversation, activity or workshop.
• 422 Pantry – supports families and individuals who are referred to 422 because they are experiencing food poverty. As members they make a £2 membership contribution and receive between £15-20 worth of food every week.
• Bollyfit Active – Bollyfit offer women-only dance and well-being classes at 422 each week in term time. Classes run on various weekday mornings from 9.30-11am. Follow them on twitter for information on the latest groups, or email: [email protected]
• After School Club – the Club is run by a team from Manchester Vineyard on Friday’s from 3.30-5.00pm in the 422 Café. For children aged 8-11 years old. Each week there are games, snacks, help with homework, and a topic to help us connect, grow and support children’s well-being!
• Volunteer – many organisations have given free or discounted labour and materials to 422 which made so much of this possible. 422 host volunteer days for companies looking to give back. Get in touch to see how this could work for your organisation or to volunteer at 422 Programmes.
• Alchemy Arts (Work Readiness Initiative) – the ‘Get Me Work Ready’ is Alchemy Arts’ latest innovative social prescribing project that is split in to supporting two cohorts. The first aims to encourage local women within Greater Manchester to have a voice and realise their true potential, with a major focus on those experiencing social exclusion as well as south Asian women facing barriers accessing relevant services to address needs. The second is working with a younger group who are looking for employment through the job centre.
• Stay and Play – this group is for parents and carers to Stay and Play with their babies and toddlers. We’ll have refreshments and lots of toys and activities! You don’t have to sign up, feel free to just drop in. Mondays: 10 - 12 (Term-time only).
• Himmat – a culturally-specific service run by Asian carers in Manchester. Working together to help and support services for the South Asian Community in Manchester. You can find out more about their services in 422 by visiting their website: himmatsupport.com
