A Carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot manage without their support. We understand the invaluable contribution that Carers make to both the people they support and society as a whole. We exist to change Carers lives.
Manchester Carers Centre is an active member of Carers Manchester, which is a partnership of statutory services and voluntary organisations. The partnership includes 18 organisations who support unpaid/unwaged Carers in Manchester and plays a central role in the new Carers Pathway.
Manchester Carers Centre is a proud Network Partner of the Carers Trust. The Carers Trust Network supports Carers locally through a unique UK-wide network of Network Partners. These are all independent local services like Manchester Carers Centre.

We have 3 main services for unpaid Carers: Caring4Me, Money & More, and I CAN.
Caring 4 Me
“Caring4Me” is our health and wellbeing service supporting Carers on a 1-1 basis and through free or low-cost peer group activities.
We offer 1-1 appointments to listen to Carers who have worries relating to their caring role. During an appointment we discuss Carers concerns and agree on practical solutions to improve their health, wellbeing and caring situation.
Our popular events and short breaks give Carers the opportunity to access free or low-cost peer group activities. These can include visits to Museums, Theatres and Art Galleries, and Workshops such as Music, Ceramics and Photography. These events are a chance for Carers to have some time away from their caring role and to explore a new place or hobby!
Money and More
Our “Money & More” service provides Carers with practical financial support through regular 1-1 appointments. We can help to connect Carers with services such as benefits advice and information, debt services, resources and grant opportunities for a variety of items such as household goods, technology, breaks, and more. This service aims to help Carers feel less stressed about their current financial situation, finding practical solutions to alleviate financial worries.
At Manchester Carers Centre we are aware of how much the current national Cost of Living crisis will be impacting unpaid Carers. There is lots of support available for Carers who are struggling and our Money and More service can help Carers access support to reduce financial worries.
I CAN
For Carers aged 16-25, we have a dedicated Young Adult Carers Service: “I CAN”. We offer 1-1 appointments to discuss any concerns or worries, monthly peer group activity sessions, access to learning and development opportunities, quarterly E-bulletins, access to financial support via grants, information and advice on relevant Carer issues and referrals and signposting to relevant support services.
