Description: <p>1. To act as a voice for African in the UK, advocating and campaigning for women&rsquo;s rights.</p>
<p>2. To empower African to take an active role in decision making, helping to influence and shape policies and services in the City.</p>
<p>3. To enable better communication between individual women and women&rsquo;s groups in order to improve access to services and information that has the potential to better their lives.</p>
<p>4. To work with other partners to promote gender equality locally, nationally and internationally.</p>
<p>5. Using sport imagine for the fight against racism, poverty and human rights POWERS.</p>
<p>In furtherance of these objects but not otherwise, the executive committee may exercise the following procedures: Power to raise funds and to invite and receive contributions provided that in raising funds the Executive Committee shall not undertake any substantial permanent trading activities and shall conform to any relevant requirements of the law. Power to buy, take on lease or in exchange any property necessary for the achievement of the objects and to maintain and equip it for use. Power subject to any consents required by law to sell, lease or dispose of all or any part of the property of the Group. Power subject to any consents required by law to borrow money and to charge all or any part of the property of the Group with repayment of the money so borrowed. Power to employ such staff (who shall not be members of the Executive Committee) and to recruit and support volunteers as are necessary for the proper pursuit of the objects. Power to co-operate with other Charities, Voluntary bodies and statutory authorities operating in furtherance of the objects or of similar charitable purposes and to exchange information and advice with them. Power to establish or support any charitable trusts, associations or institutions formed for all or any of the objects. Power to do all such other lawful things as are necessary for the achievement of the objects.</p>
