Where do they work?: Clayton and Openshaw
Telephone: 0161 232 7854
Description: A FREE computerised cognitive behavioural therapy (cCBT) service is now available at East City Library in Openshaw every Tuesday from 2.30pm to 6.30pm.
cCBT offers a new way of helping people to cope with anxiety and depression, and it also helps people to remain well. cCBT helps people to understand the causes and symptoms of anxiety and depression and it also helps them to identify and change unhelpful ways of thinking and to learn more effective ways of solving their problems. The programme consists of an introductory video and 8 sixty-minute sessions.
There is no charge for this service and you do not need to have any computer experience; you only need to be able to click a mouse and type in a few words which our support workers can help with if necessary. The programme can also be used by people who have concerns about their literacy as each session is provided verbally through headphones.
To access this service you will need to complete a self-referral form. Referral forms can be downloaded from our website or if you give us a call on 0161 232 7854 we will post one out to you.
