Description: Family Action is a national charity that has provided support to children and families in need for 140 years. We help over 45,000 children and families a year by providing financial, emotional and practical support, especially to those living in poverty. A further 60,000 benefit from our educational grants advice.

Opportunity title Summary
EPEC Parent Group Leader Support parents in your community as an EPEC Parent Group Leader. After completing training, you’ll co-deliver parenting courses in local family hubs. Ideal for parents and carers who want to empower others and build their own skills in facilitation and communication. Based in Wythenshawe or Gorton. Training and full support provided by Family Action.
Remote Helpline Volunteer - FamilyLine FamilyLine is Family Action’s national helpline, supporting anyone aged 18+ who is experiencing challenges relating to family life. Volunteers provide a listening ear, emotional support and signposting through telephone calls, webchat and text messages, helping people feel heard and connected to the right support.

Working remotely from home using our digital systems, volunteers respond to a wide range of issues affecting individuals and families across the UK. Volunteers may also refer callers to other Family Action services, including counselling, befriending and grant programmes.

We ask volunteers to commit to at least 2 hours per week and a minimum of 12 months in the role. Volunteers can choose shifts that fit around their existing commitments.

• A willingness to learn and develop new skills
