Opportunity title Summary
DUPLICATE: Childcare assistant We are looking for an enthusiastic person who wants to work with children aged 3-11. You will be tasked with assisting and supporting the staff team with all of the day to day care.
Volunteer Youth Mentor We are looking for an enthusiastic person who wants to work within the youth work sector to provide support and mentoring for young people aged between 11-18 at our evening Youth Club.
Volunteer Lunchtime Organiser We are looking for an enthusiastic person who wants to assist in the support and supervision of the pupils of Manchester Settlement School at lunchtimes and/or breaks.
Volunteer Learning Mentor You will be tasked with mentoring young people from 13-16 years old both in and out of class during school hours. This role would suit a person wanting to go into youth work, social work or teaching roles in the future with some experience of working with young people and an ability to relate to young people’s issues and why they may feel excluded or misunderstood and who also enjoys working with young people in small groups.
Volunteer Childcare Baking & Cooking Teacher The Childcare team manage a group of up to 50 3-11 year olds in an ‘after school club’ setting. We offer affordable, registered childcare to all primary school attendees. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who wants to work with children aged 3-11. You will be tasked with teaching groups of children aged 3-11 basic cooking/baking skills. There is no accreditation necessary for this role, though we may ask you to train while working.
DUPLICATE: Volunteer Secondary School Sports Coach Our School is a non-mainstream educational Alternative Provision School which was graded ‘Good’ in our last Ofsted (2014). We are looking for an enthusiastic person who wants to work with children aged 13-16. You will be tasked with providing a wide range of sports coaching for all young people in the school. There is no accreditation necessary for this role, though we may ask you to train while working.
Volunteer Student Voice Representative This role would suit a person wanting to go into youth work, politics, social work or teaching roles in the future with some experience of working with young people and an ability to relate to young people’s issues and why they may feel excluded or misunderstood. You will be tasked with supporting a group of representatives from each class, enabling them to communicate their ideas onto the staff team. There is no accreditation necessary for this role, though we may ask you to train while working.
Volunteer Secondary School Sports Coach We are looking for an enthusiastic person who can teach popular sports to a KS4 class.
Volunteer Administrative Assistant This role would suit a person wanting to go into administration and wishing to gain experience. An ability to be proactive and have some familiarity with word processing and databases would be an advantage. There is no accreditation necessary for this role, though we may ask you to train while working.
Volunteer School 1 to 1 Mentor This role would suit a person wanting to go into youth work, social work or teaching roles in the future with some experience of working with young people and an ability to relate to young people’s issues and why they may feel excluded or misunderstood.
