Volunteering Opportunities

Opportunity title Summary
N-Gage- Manchester Area We require volunteers that are able to drive our youth vehicles (7.5 tonnes) across North Manchester, South Manchester and Wythenshawe for our Catalyst Youth Project. Catalyst is a detached youth work programme, launched in October 2011 in partnership with Manchester City Council and Greater Manchester Police. Catalyst offers a highly flexible and targeted approach towards anti-social behavior, youth crime, disengagement and community disturbance. It is an early-intervention strategy that focuses on hard-to-reach young people by providing mobile youth services. Five nights a week we send an our team to work in local parks or estates in South Manchester, North Manchester and Wythenshawe. We use the Police Youth Resource Bus and our own Youth Vehicle which have on board games, computers and other activities. We also encourage sporting activities and are available to chat to young people providing alternative options to them getting involved in anti-social activities. Mandatory training is provided to all our Volunteers, with other opportunities to attend and participate in training throughout the year. Get more involved in your local community by being part of this exciting, innovative service, learn new skills, have fun and meet new people.
