Description: Formed in 1997 the Celebrity Pig Theatre Company is a group of actors who are learning disabled and based in South Manchester. The actors are proud to have the Manchester based and highly acclaimed actor, Christopher Eccleston as their patron. Christopher aggreed to become patron in 1001 after working with one of the actors in the BBC2 award winning production, 'Flesh and Blood.' Thje actors pride themselves in devising their own scripts and producing a high standard of performance. Their recent production, 'Romeo and Juliet,' a question of choice performed at the Lowry theatre, Salford in May, 2006 received great acclaim from sell-out audiences at each performance. Christopher Eccleston took a supporting role in this production along with three other professional actors of stage, film and screen. The company are looking to attract funding/sponsorship/trustees to enable them to become an independent company.
