Description:
Volunteer Reading Help is a national charity which, since 1973, has been training, placing and supporting volunteers in primary schools to provide one-to-one, personalised support to children who have significant difficulties with their reading and learning.
We also provide training for adults, such as parents, in order to help them read effectively with children.
VRH provides volunteers with ongoing training and support as well as resources (books, games etc) for use in their sessions with children. Volunteers are invited to regular events and meetings as well as receiving a termly newsletter. They also receive regular support visits from a designated Volunteer Support Worker.
