GM4Women – Dialogue, Deeds, Determination

Date & Time of Event:
2 July, 2024 - 10:00 to 15:00
Venue:
Maxwell Hall, Crescent, Salford, M5 4WT

Join the discussion on how to make Greater Manchester a better place for women and girls.

Join GM4Women’s next Dialogue, Deeds and Determination event in Salford hosted at the University of Salford at the historic Maxwell Hall, Peel Park campus with a plenary session focusing on political engagement and representation.

The aim is to continue the mission of bringing together women and girls from across Greater Manchester to share our lived experiences across our themes of employment, safety, participation, education and culture, and sport.

GM4Women 2028 is a charity is a ten year project led by Helen Pankhurst CBE – the great granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst. The overarching aim of the project is to encourage the 10 local authorities in Greater Manchester to work together to develop better outcomes for women and girls.

At the Dialogue, Deeds, Determination events you can play your part in the progression of women's rights. Connect with and hear from community groups, charities, trailblazing girls, feminist leaders, and policymakers, and take part in workshops to help turn collected data into deeds.

Since 2018, GM4Women have been revealing scorecard data that monitors how well, or not, Greater Manchester is faring for gender equality in the previous twelve months, and we'll continue to do so to 2028 – the centenary of equal franchise.

In 2022 GM4Women were excited to begin delivering dialogue events to mark the anniversary of The Equal Franchise Act of 1928 which granted equal voting rights to women and men. We're continuing these dialogues around the region to hear from women like you across Greater Manchester.
