Beyond our working groups, we offer other opportunities within the GMOPN, like the Equality Panel and Mature Minds Matter. Please read a short description of these groups below. If you’re interested in learning more, tick the relevant check box, and we’ll be in touch.
Mature Minds Matter: A group of people aged 50+ who have lived experience of accessing or supporting someone who has accessed mental health support as an older person in Greater Manchester. The group uses their experiences to influence and inform service transformation to ensure support is age-appropriate and developed alongside people with lived experience. The group regularly meets to discuss issues important to them, as well as undertaking various projects such as the development of self-harm awareness booklets and Rhymes from the Wise.
Equality Panel: A group of people 50+ that champions the voices of older people across Greater Manchester, ensuring they help shape policies and decisions at the city-region level. The panel advises the Mayor and GM combined authority on key issues affecting older adults, provides critical oversight, and undertakes specific projects on an as-needed basis.
