Live Well Communities Fund
Manchester Community Central is proud to announce the launch of Phase Two of the Live Well Communities Fund, part of Greater Manchester’s Live Well initiative.
Following the success of the first phase – which supported 18 local groups with grants and tailored capacity building support – the next stage of the programme will focus on empowering individuals who are driving positive change within their communities.
Empowering Leaders: social action grants and leadership support for North Manchester
Phase Two has been shaped by community consultations and through working with our community design panel.
To remove barriers and reach emerging leaders earlier in their journey, this phase is aimed at individuals aged 18–35 from Global Majority communities living in North Manchester who are leading or piloting grassroots social action projects.
Fifteen grants of £1,500 are available, alongside a targeted leadership development programme designed to strengthen community power and build long term resilience.
The fund continues to align with the wider Live Well programme outcomes, which aim to:
- Create stronger, healthier communities where people can live well locally
- Promote economic and social inclusion, helping residents gain skills and access employment or volunteering
- Strengthen community power and leadership, shifting decision making closer to local people.
- Focus on prevention, reducing future demand on public services
- Tackle health, social, and economic inequalities across Greater Manchester
Through small grants and tailored support, the Live Well Communities Fund enables individuals to test new ideas, pilot approaches, and take on stronger leadership roles – helping North Manchester thrive.
