 Bev Craig

- Labour Councillor in Burnage and Leader of Manchester City Council

- City Councils first female LGBT leader.

- Graduated from Manchester University in 2007 with a Politics and Modern History Degree and Masters in Political Science.

- First elected as Councillor for Burnage in 2011, then re-elected winning more than 70% of the vote.                                                                   

                                        

Dr Carl Austin-Behan OBE

- LGBT adviser to the Mayor of Greater Manchester

- He was Manchester's first openly gay Lord Mayor

- Previous Labour Councillor for Burnage from 2011 to 2018

- Former Mr Gay UK

John Amaechi OBE

- Patron for Manchester Pride 

- First former NBA basketball player to publicly come out as gay 

- He is also a qualified psychologist

- He was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science by Manchester Metropolitan University in 2007 for his athletic and broadcasting acheivements and charitable work in encouraging children to become invovled in sport  

- The Amaechi Basketball centre is named after him 

Dr Paul Martin OBE

- CEO of the LGBT Foundation, who deliver support and advice to LGBT communities

- Chair National LGBT Partnership, a network fo English LGBT service organisations

- Part of Greater Manchester Mayor's LGBT Advisory Group

Alan Turing OBE FRS

- He was a computer scientist who was based at the University of Manchester after his work with the British Intelligence Service at Bletchley Park during World War II

- He was prosecuted for homosexual acts and was castrated instead of going to prison but later died due to poisoning

- He has been honoured with a building at the University of Manchester and a plaque that remembers him as a 'Father of Computer Science, Mathematician, Logician, Wartime Codebreaker, Vicitim of Prejudice'

- Named as 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century by Time magazine in 1999
