1:1 Skilled business volunteer support

Business in the Community harnesses the skills and time of their 600+ business members to support the needs of local community organisations across the UK. The team broker and nurture connections between their members and community organisations to facilitate positive social change, across the UK.

Through the programmes community organisations can access free one-to-one support, consultancy, pro-bono services and skills training from Business in the Community’s network of business members.

Ideas of the types of things the programme may be able to explore support for are:

• Finance: Budget planning, funding applications, funding strategies, financial modelling, accountancy advice etc
• HR: Staff and volunteer operational advice, systems/ policy writing, training and development, wellbeing, inclusion and diversity advice, change management, mentoring etc
• IT, tech support, web and apps: Systems advice, remote and in person working tools, web design, digitalisation advice, app design etc
• PR, Comms, Marketing and events: Marketing campaigns, PR advice, effective use of social media (general or particular platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter), managing online presence, events set up and delivery etc
• Business management: Project management, business strategies, mentoring/ coaching, training etc
• Specialist services:  Legal advice, construction/ facilities related support such as conveyancing, surveyors, management advice etc, specialist training etc
