Addressing inequalities in business support – call for evidence

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) has secured UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF) to support local business, including social businesses. This funding will be used to deliver a core programme of business support, as well as programmes focused on helping entrepreneurs to start their own businesses and promoting innovation.

The GMCA intends to use some of the UKSPF funding to trial experimental approaches to addressing inequalities in the availability, access, experience and outcomes of local business support. To inform this and future business support commissions more broadly, they would like to gather evidence of where inequalities in accessing and benefitting from business support services currently exist, and how these inequalities could be effectively reduced.

The perspectives from community businesses, trading charities and social enterprises will be invaluable.
