Could you help make Manchester a better place for people age 50 plus?
Do you connect with people in your community and know what older people want?
The Age Friendly Manchester Older People's Board are recruiting new members and are inviting expressions of interest from people aged 50 and over to become part of a group of older people who want to influence strategy and policy and make their communities places where older people can thrive.
The board has carried out a review of their board members and to continue to support the diversity of the board they are particularly looking for people:
- From South Asian communities
- Who are men
- Who live in North and East Manchester
- Who are disabled
This is a fantastic opportunity to improve the lives of older people in a city that is developing all the time. The focus is on reducing inequalities and it is important that board members represent the communities of Manchester.
Interest is welcome from people working with organisations or groups that represent communities that may struggle to have their voices heard.
There is a small annual allowance to cover any Board related expenses and travel costs to in person bimonthly Board meetings.
