The Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest online match funding campaign which helps UK registered charities raise funds for their cause. The Christmas Challenge takes place every December.
The Big Give offers supporters of participating charities the chance to have their donation doubled on thebiggive.org.uk when the Christmas Challenge Goes live in December. For example, a £100 online donation made to a participating charity during the Christmas Challenge can be doubled to become £200.
The match funding to double donations comes from a combination of philanthropists brought by the Big Give, called ‘Champions’ and charities own major donors called ‘Pledges’.
These Champions’ funds are joined with Pledges from the charities’ major donors to double online donations during the Christmas Challenge on a first come, first served basis.
Champions’ match funding will be released at midday on Friday 4 December and Saturday 5 December 2015.
The Christmas Challenge is open to any UK-registered charity. Each charity can submit up to two projects for consideration for the Christmas Challenge but only one can be accepted. The projects can be to do with any aspect of a charity’s work.
