GM Moving are bringing together a co-design group to develop and grow the their Sport Volunteering Community of Practice around the shared purpose of making volunteering in sport, physical activity and movement more inclusive and accessible.  The co-design group is a renumerated opportunity,

The Community of Practice began in 2023, as one of the recommendations from research into Greater Manchester Physical Activity, Sport and Movement Volunteering. GM Moving are now excited to be moving into the next phase of development for the Community of Practice and want people who are rooted in this work to help shape it. If you have attended the CoP and are able to bring the experience outlined below, GM Moving would encourage you to apply to be part of the co-design group.  

GM Moving are looking for people to join the co-design group, who can:  

  • Bring an understanding of the bigger picture of volunteering, beyond your individual organisational context. Be able to spot patterns and trends in volunteering, and work together to come up with new solutions.
  • Share insight into the intersecting inequalities that impact participation in volunteering.
  • Be confident in sharing insight on volunteering from your own sector and bring curiosity about how volunteering works in other sectors across Greater Manchester.    
  • Commit to developing our Community of Practice and amplifying its impact.

The commitment for this role involves:  

  • Attending a 1.5-hour meeting between each Community of Practice gathering to reflect , identify follow up on actions, and prepare for the next session.
  • Taking part in at least 75% of co-design meetings each year, so that we can build strong connections and momentum for this work. There will be a maximum of four co-design meetings each year.  
  • Supporting the delivery of Community of Practice meetings, including tasks such as co-facilitating breakout groups, hosting sections of the meeting, or supporting with notetaking.
