Manchester City Council is a long-standing supporter of gender equality and supports annual activities every March to promote and celebrate International Women’s Day (8 March).
The Council are keen to continue the celebrations with a walk on Saturday 9 March 2024, as well as smaller citywide events. The Council want to empower community groups, not for profit and voluntary organisations to deliver great activities to celebrate the role of women in our society in support of the wider event. The Council are inclusive of all women including trans women and non-binary people.
The Council want to make International Women’s Day 2024 as accessible, participatory and enjoyable for everyone as possible. Funding is therefore open to community groups, not for profit and voluntary organisations, for anything that’s going to contribute to a celebration of women, with a particular focus on this year’s theme: #InspireInclusion.
