25 Nov 2021 - 09:23 by michelle.foster

manchester city councilThe Be Proud Awards are the city’s celebration of the extraordinary volunteers and unsung local champions who make a real difference in our communities and help to make Manchester great.

Having not been held since 2019, due to Covid-19, the awards are returning in 2022 and nominations are now open. This will give you an opportunity to help unsung heroes get the recognition they deserve.

Recently, more than ever, so many people in our city have stepped up to make a difference to their communities and to keep residents safe and connected in the most difficult and unprecedented circumstances.

The first Be Proud event since the pandemic will give everyone a wonderful chance to celebrate those who have continued to achieve great things against the odds in recent times, as well as those who have adapted, often creatively, to meet the changing needs of communities and those who responded with the sort of new and innovative ideas Manchester is famous for.
