Community Buildings and Housing - Grants and Support

6 Mar 2015 - 10:27 by michelle.foster

There are two types of grants available for Community Buildings and Housing:
• Community Buildings Pre-Feasibility Grant
• Community Buildings Project Grant

Community Buildings Pre-Feasibility Grant
Amount of grant available: Between £1,000 and £10,000

This grant will help you assess the feasibility of a community buildings project prior to submitting a Community Right to Build Order or (in the case of community-led housing projects only), a traditional planning application.

If you have identified a possible community building project and are assessing the way forward, a pre-feasibility grant will give you broad-brush information to help you progress.

Community Buildings Project Grant
Amount of grant available: Between £5,000 and £40,000

This grant will help you to pay for the help you need to progress your project to the point of submitting a Community Right to Build Order or (in the case of community-led housing projects only), a traditional planning application

If your community is supporting your project and you are proceeding, this grant will pay for expert help and other costs associated with preparing your detailed plans.
Community groups applying for this grant are expected to contribute at least 10% of the estimated costs of developing the proposal to the point of submitting a Community Right to Build Order or (in the case of community-led housing only), a traditional planning application. Groups must meet certain criteria to be eligible to apply.

If you wish to apply for a Community Buildings Pre-Feasibility Grant or Project Support Grant, complete the Expression of Interest form.

Applications can be made at any time.
