Covid-19 – Manchester health and homelessness advice system

In light of the rapidly developing issues around Covid-19 and homelessness in the city, Manchester City Council has established an online google group for professionals working in the homelessness sector. The aim of the group is to offer advice, support and guidance around issues related to Covid-19 and homelessness, based on national guidance and as the situation develops for local professionals to share knowledge and practical learning.

The group is open to any professionals working within the homelessness or related sectors in the Manchester area. Colleagues with relevant knowledge or experience should be encouraged to join and organisations can have as many members as they wish. Colleagues working in similar services in other parts of Greater Manchester are welcome to join and share learning.

Queries, clarification and requests for information/guidance may be posted on the google group. The google group will be co-ordinated by a SPOC (single point of contact) who will be linked into the Infection Control Team at Manchester City Council. The SPOC is also available by email or phone. Group members are encouraged to share their experience and best professional practice as this situation is unprecedented and new to all of us.

To join the group
You will either be sent an invitation by email or simply send an email to the SPOC requesting membership. The SPOC will try and assist with any technical issues people have signing up to the google group. The SPOC will be supporting the work of the Infection Control Team (which is a small team based within the Population Health Team, MHCC).
